ICT to Enhance Learning

This page provides an overview of the online tools that teachers use as part of their learning programs. Some tools are used by specific subjects or learning areas, and their use will therefore depend on each student’s learning program. For further information, please contact the College’s IT Services team (at helpdesk@bse.vic.edu.au) or the staff member indicated for subject specific tools.

Purpose for Use

Class Dojo is used by the College’s Base Camp program to document student learning achievements in the form of a digital portfolio. Students use a personalised login provided by their teacher to log in at the URL:   https://student.classdojo.com/#/login 

Terms of Use and Privacy

The Class Dojo terms of use can be accessed here and the site’s privacy policy can be accessed here. The site uses student first and last name for identification purposes. It also has the capacity to store images of students.

Consent Requirements

Parent consent for the use of Class Dojo is mandated as part of the platform’s terms of use.

Purpose for Use

Education Perfect is used in Languages classes to strengthen and consolidate listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar.   

Terms of Use and Privacy

The Education Perfect terms of use can be accessed on the Education Perfect website (https://epforschool.com/en/languages/). Direct links are not provided as they link to PDF documents which may be updated at any time.

Education Perfect uses student first and last name for identification purposes. The site also collects each student’s BSE user ID and class allocation for tracking of student/class achievement.

Parent consent for the use of the Education Perfect is mandated as part of the platform’s terms of use. If you have not received a consent form please contact your child’s Language’s teacher.

Purpose for Use

ESSI Money is an online financial literacy game for Australian secondary school students. ESSI Money establishes an environment for students to explore and use a range of basic financial management concepts in the areas of Earning, Saving, Spending and Investing. Through using ESSI Money, students achieve an understanding of how decisions made over a period of time can have both positive and negative impacts on their financial situation. Students are encouraged to strategise and reflect on decisions by setting goals, creating a budget and making regular diary entries. Purpose for Use

The Google Apps for Education Suite [aka: GAFE] is collection of tools developed by Google. For detailed information about GAFE, visit: https://edu.google.com/

Students access GAFE tools using their BSE email and password. Each individual tool has a unique access link at which they are required to log in using their BSE credentials.

Purpose for Use

The College’s Mathematics program in Years 7 to 9 utilises Maths Pathway, an online learning platform that creates a fully personalised numeracy program for each student. The College uses Maths Pathway to enhance differentiation and explicit teaching whilst catering for the learning needs of all students. Students access the site using a personalised URL and password provided by their teacher.    

Terms of Use and Privacy

The Maths Pathways privacy policy can be accessed here. The site uses student first name for identification purposes (and the first letter of the surname for students with the same first name). Each student’s BSE user ID is linked into their account to enable efficient tracking of student data.

Purpose for Use

Musescore is used to create, play back and print beautiful sheet music. It is used by students in the College’s Music program. Students access Noteflight using their BSE email and password at the website: https://musescore.com/

Purpose for Use

Noteflight is an online music writing application that lets you create, view, print and hear professional quality music notation. It is used by students in the College’s Music program. Students access Noteflight using their BSE email and password at the website: https://www.noteflight.com/

The Office 365 Suite [aka: O365] is collection of tools developed by Microsoft. For detailed information about O365, visit: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office

Purpose for Use

The OnGuard Safety Training website is used to develop students’ knowledge of safety risks when working in technology based practical areas (e.g. woods, metals, plastics). Students access the site using login details provided by the classroom teacher. The URL to access the site is: https://www.onguardsafety.com.au/

Purpose for Use

The College utilises ‘Progressive Achievement Testing’ developing by the Australian Council for Educational Research to assist with gaining greater insight into the reading and numeracy abilities of our students. These tests assist teachers to review and refine their learning programs and assist with validating teacher judgements on student performance. Students access the platform through a link in BSE Virtual (to https://oars.acer.edu.au/bendigo-south-east-college/) and log in using their BSE student ID and password.

The terms of use for the PAT platform can be accessed here and the site’s privacy policy can be accessed here. The site uses student name for identification purposes. Student date of birth and gender are also collected for the purpose of performing normative data analysis. The gender/DOB data is anonymised when used.

Purpose for Use

Stile is the College’s primary platform for the delivery of learning content and resouces. The site is used regularly by students to download learning resources, to upload completed learning tasks and to lesson plans/overviews created by BSE staff or referenced from the Stile lesson libary. Student access Stile using their BSE email and password at the website: https://stileapp.com/login.

Information collected within Stile is only accessible by the staff member(s) linked into each particular subject.

Purpose for Use

The College’s Athlete Development Program utilises ‘Visual Coach Pro’ [VCP ]to distribute personalised physical training programs to student athletes. Students use a personalised login to access their training program.   

Terms of Use and Privacy

The VCP terms of use can be accessed here and the site’s privacy policy can be accessed here. The site uses student first and last name for identification purposes. The site can collect a significant volume of personal data, however none of this data is inputted or required in the way that the ADP team use the platform.

Purpose for Use

ZapWorks is used by students to be creative and tells stories using Augmented Reality [AR]. Using the ZapWorks ecosystem, students can rapidly build, publish, analyze and scale immersive AR experiences across the complete customer journey. Students access ZapWorks using their BSE email and password at the website:   https://zap.works/

Purpose for Use

The ASX Sharemarket Game is an online financial literacy tool for Australian secondary school students. The Sharemarket Game establishes an environment for students to:

  • Develop their knowledge of the sharemarket
  • Learn how to research companies
  • Discover the importance of wise investment decisions
  • Gain a greater knowledge of economic and world events
  • Begin to learn more about investing which is beneficial for their future


The Sharemarket Game is incorporated into the Year 10 Humanities teaching and learning program as an essential component of the Economics unit in which students develop their financial literacy. After completing a number of rounds of the Sharemarket Game, students reflect on their experiences and explain how individuals can set, prioritise and plan for financial goals.

Terms of Use and Privacy

To use the Sharemarket Game the College must supply each student’s name, gender, year level and school. The creation and management of students accounts is the responsibility of the student’s classroom teacher.

The company that develops the Sharemarket Game states that they “will only use the personal information it collects to allow it to identify teachers and students, provide information to participants relating to the Game, resolve queries or technical issues regarding the Game, identify and coordinate prizes for Game winners or as otherwise required to administer the Game.” 

In relation to information disclosure, the company states that the “ASX will not transfer the personal information it collects overseas or disclose it to any third parties without the individual’s consent, except that the ASX may disclose the name, year level, school and school location of Game winners on the Game Website.”

Consent Requirements

Parent consent for the use of the Sharemarket Game is considered ‘opt-out’ under the DET Privacy Policy. However, the Game creator requires consent be sought for students under the age of 16. 

Purpose for Use

Tinkercad is a free online collection of software tools that help people all over the world think, create and make in three-dimensions. Tinkercad is an introduction to Autodesk, a leader in Computer Aided Design software.

Terms of Use and Privacy

During the registration process, Tinkercad requests the following personal information:

  • An email address
  • The child’s name (only in the case of parent moderation)
  • the child’s member or account username, and password
  • the child’s birthdate to validate age.

AutoCAD, the creators of TinkerCAD, use the information provided during registration for security purposes (such as preventing access to features only accessible by adults). For further information, click here.
