Course Selections at Bendigo South East College

Choosing subjects is an exciting milestone in every student’s secondary school journey. The subjects students select will help shape their interests, develop valuable knowledge and skills, and prepare them for future study, training and career pathways.

While it’s completely normal not to know exactly what the future holds, making informed subject choices can help keep opportunities open. Students are encouraged to consider their strengths, interests and goals, while exploring the wide range of pathways available after school.

Throughout the Course Selection process, students and families are encouraged to make the most of the support available. Talk with teachers, our Careers Team and family members, ask questions, and explore where different subjects can lead.

To support families through this process, we have created the Careers + Pathways site, which is available via Compass. The site contains everything you need in one place, including Course Selection Guides, subject information, pathway resources, careers information, key dates and helpful links.

Please note: Families can only access the Careers + Pathways site by logging into their student’s Compass account.

Remember, subject selection is about more than choosing classes for next year, it’s about building a pathway towards future opportunities. Choose subjects that reflect your interests, strengths and aspirations, and take advantage of the support available to help make informed decisions.
