Students from the Bendigo Deaf Facility at BSE were thrilled to attend the Bendigo Writers Festival session “Tell it in Verse” featuring renowned Australian authors Pip Harry, Steven Herrick, and Robbie Coburn.
With the support of fantastic Auslan interpreters from Expressions Australia, students enjoyed hearing the authors read their own poetry, asked thoughtful questions, and even got to meet the authors during a book signing session.
The day continued with a treasure hunt through Bendigo’s CBD, where students explored local youth services including YSAS, YoBendigo, Bendigo City Council, and Headspace.
They were then able to enjoy their lunch at Bendigo Senior Secondary College as part of our ongoing transition program.
