Welcome to Bendigo South East College
Starting secondary school is an exciting milestone for students and families, and at Bendigo South East College we are proud to support students as they begin this important stage of their learning journey.
Our Year 7 program focuses on helping students feel confident, connected and supported as they transition from primary school into secondary education. We place a strong emphasis on building positive relationships, developing a strong sense of belonging and creating opportunities for every student to grow both academically and personally.
At Bendigo South East College, students are encouraged to explore their interests, challenge themselves and take advantage of the many learning opportunities available across our college community. Our dedicated staff work closely with students and families to ensure each young person feels supported and ready to succeed.
Year 7 Information Evening
Our Year Seven Information evening was held on Monday 4th May 2026.
Year 7 Placement Process – 2027
The Year 7 placement process for Victorian government schools is coordinated through primary schools.
Primary schools will distribute the Year 7 Parent/Carer information pack to all families of Year 6 students.
Families are also encouraged to visit www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au to locate their designated neighbourhood school and access further information about the transition from primary to secondary school.
Students at Non Government Schools
Families of Year 6 students at non-government schools wanting to enrol at a Victorian government school in 2027 may approach secondary schools directly if their child’s primary school is not supporting the statewide placement process.
Non-government families must use the Application for Year 7 Placement 2027 . Please also read the Parent/Carer information pack.
Key Dates
Friday 8th May 2026 – Year 7 Placement Applications Due
Parents and carers must submit the completed Application for Year 7 Placement 2027 form to their child’s primary school by this date.
Wednesday 24th June 2026 – Placement offers released
Primary schools will notify parents and carers of Year 7 placement outcomes and provide a Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip and, where relevant, an Appeal Form.
Tuesday 11th August 2026 –Placement acceptance due
Parents and carers must return the completed Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip to their child’s primary school.
Wednesday 18th November 2026 – 6pm ( TBC )
2027 Year Seven Information Evening – this will be held in the BSE Stadium. Further details will be available closer to the date.
Tuesday 8th December 2026 – All Day
Our Year Seven Orientation day will be held on Tuesday 8th December 2026.
