Bendigo Easter Festival
We need your help! Urgent help required.
The Bendigo Chinese community have been participating in the annual Bendigo Easter Festival for over 140 years. Each year the Chinese contingent within the Torchlight and Gala procession grows in size.
This year the Bendigo Chinese Association is seeking support from dedicated locals to assist in a variety of different roles within the two parades.
Young boys and girls from the ages of 7 years old and above (over 130cm in height) are required to carry banners, flags, flowers and martial arts regalia. Men and women from 16 years old and above are also encouraged to assist in carrying large banners and one of the 7 dragons, including Sun Loong – the world’s longest Imperial Dragon.
We are very low on numbers this year and we would hate to not get our Chinese procession out this year – can you image the Easter parade without the Chinese section!
Interested groups and individuals can register at the Bendigo Chinese Association/Golden Dragon Museum on:
Mon – Fri: 10am – 5pm
Sat & Sun: 10am – 4pm
