BSE Dragons Junior Hockey Teams Compete in Melbourne

Year 7 Girls - Tuesday the 15th of November.

The Year 7 girls started the day strongly with a 3-0 win over Templestow College on the back of a Leila Padgham hat-trick.

They faced a much more difficult opponent in Melbourne Girls College and took one point in a hard fought 1 all draw.

In the last game of the pool stage, BSE won 4-1 against Catholic College Wodonga. Indi Power scored two goals, her second a baseball-like hit that rocketed into the back of the net.

The girls progressed to the final and went down 2-0 to a very strong Balwyn High School.

Goal scorers were Leila Padgham - 4, Tullie Rowe - 1, Indi Power - 2, Aimee Griffiths - 1.

Year 7 Boys - Wednesday the16th of November.

The Year seven boys played the eventual winners - Maribyrnong College - first up in a very tense 1-0 loss.

Rhys Naughton was rock solid as goal-keeper saving repeated short-corners. Unfortunately, Maribyrnong finally broke through with their last short-corner with 1 minute left in the game. Their next two games were won 3-0 and 4-0 against Montorency SC and Wodonga HS respectively.

Reilly Porter scored a hat-trick in the team's win over Wodonga. The boys ended up with a stronger goal difference to Maribyrnong, but didn't progress due to the loss at the start of the day.

A great day of sport and learning.  All athletes represented the College proudly.

A huge thank you to the coach Caleb, for all the work that he has done with the team.  A great result this year!

Bring on next year and the Championship!!
