The BSE Twilight Market was a rocking success. We welcomed over 2000 students, family, friends and neighbours to share in a fantastic community event. Organised by our Friends of BSE Arts committee, the evening was abuzz with over 100 market stalls, food vendors, a rock climbing wall, sword craft display, games workshop and face-painting.
Music students Erin Mannix & Rhyley McGrath welcomed people to the BSE Theatre, which played host to a large display of colourful student art. The BSE Strings ensembles performed before the art was auctioned to raise over $2000 for Bendigo Health. Outside, BSE Guitar Ensembles, Choirs and Concert Bands performed as people took the opportunity to do some Christmas shopping and relax with family & friends.
The Silent Auction was a hit, with all prizes being generously donated by local businesses and the market stall holders donated an item each for the lucky spinning wheel. Funds raised will go towards supporting the BSE Music & Arts programs. The crowd gathered to hear the silent auction winners being announced and everyone’s favourite BSE Stage Band performed as the sky grew dark.
A huge thank you to Deb Turner, Karen Whillance, Anita Grigg and all the other hard working parents, students and staff who helped to make the night a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!!
