BSE Pedal Teams Shine in the Engery Breakthrough Challenge

BSE Pedal Vehicle Teams (35 team members) hit Maryborough on Friday, November 21st ready for an exciting weekend of racing.

Two teams entered the 24 hour challenge, one team the Try-Athlon event.  The day started with all bikes going through a rigorous scrutineering session.   Stringent specifications must be met to ensure the safety of all participants.  This was followed by a Design and Construction presentation; a formal 'Display and Presentation', to a panel of 4 judges.

During the races BSE teams performed admirably.  The Try-Athlon team 'It's not My Thing', won the 8 hour race by 7 laps.   Along with excellent presentation scores, the team earned enough points to finish 'Runners Up' overall in their category, (1st place in the Design and Construction Presentation), resulting in a fantastic day.

In the 24 hour event, the Year 9 & 10 bike, 'Flog it like a Mule', finished in 4th place against some tough opposition.  The year 7 & 8 team, 'On my P's', competed well, finishing 8th, showing  they will be a force in the future.

The event was a positive experience for all students involved as they all proved themselves to be excellent ambassadors for BSE.
