BSE Dragon Sports Star of the Year 2016


BSE Dragon Sports Stars Celebrate 


On November the 7th, two hundred and fifty BSE Dragon athletes were recognised for their achievements in 2016.

Athletes who represented the College, individually and in teams from Loddon Mallee Region, all the way to State Champions and beyond were recognised.

Our guest speaker, Kelsey Griffin, Bendigo Spirit basketballer, shared her journey and where it has taken her.  

Kelsey impressed on each student the importance of their family in supporting and encouraging them along the way.  

We also welcomed back Sports Star of the 2015 Isaac Buckell.  

Isaac spoke about his year and where it has taken him.  When asked if he had some advice he said 'Go hard'.  

A large number of Athletes were presented with Special Achievements, recognising State and National Champions, State and National Repesresentative.

A significant group of years tens recieved the Service Awards, recognising their contribution to BSE Dragons Sport over their four years at BSE; a tantastic accomplishment.

Next the Year Level Sports Stars were presented. Congratulations to the following:

Year 7 Sports Stars: Ned Buckell & Dyson Daniels, Jade Donnelly & Isabella Pitto

Year 8 Sports Stars: Will McCaig & Jack Hickman, Emma Gilligam & Christijanna Holmes

Year 9 Sports Stars: Mitchell Graham & Luke Padgham, Alicia Bertani & Bridie Blake-Burrows

Year 10 Sports Stars: Ben Powell & Darcy Jacobs, Maya Van Es & Samantha Reaper

The next presentations were for the Rookie of the Year (Year 7 Athletes) and Rising Star (Year 8 or 9).

Rookies of the Year - Leila Padgham & Uros Babovic

Rising Star - Sam Buckell

Then it was time for the then the big one; 'Sports Star of the Year 2016'.

This award recognises the outstanding achievements, dedication to the chosen sport and commitment to their education.  

This well deserved award went to:

BSE Dragon Sports Star of the Year 2016 -  Jessie Rennie. - Congratulations!

The College is extremely proud of every students' success and commitment.
