2015 Victorian School Cycling Championships-Midland Region
BSE Cycling Students Taste Success at SSV Competitions
On Thursday, July 30th, students across all year levels travelled to Huntly for the Victorian School Cycling Championships.
Students with cycling experience and novice riders were part of the day’s events.
The racing was conducted over a 1km circuit at the Huntly Livestock Exchange. Racing was fast and all of our students conducted themselves well.
For those competing in cycling for the first time, it was a great opportunity to come up against those of similar ability. For racing cyclists, it was another chance to race with excellent competition.
We had some great results throughout the day with winners and placegetters but also for those competing for the first time it was a great experience into a different sport.
Students who finished in the top 6 placings in the male events and all female competitors will be eligible to compete in the State Finals on the 11th of October in the Centre of Bendigo. Conducted over 3 days the State Finals include BMX, Mountain Biking and Road Racing.
The State Finals offer our students an opportunity to compete against cyclists from across the state and allows students to compete to become State School Cycling Champion in their category.
Congratulations to all students who competed. Behaviour, application and attitude was exemplary on the day.
Looking forward to completing training sessions in the lead up to the state finals.
